Ammolite BioModels was born out of a deep understanding of the need for an accurate simulation of bone feel, as determined by expert surgeons. Through years of research, our Tactile Bones for Spine were created. Ammolite BioModels is committed to providing high-quality training bones and biomechanical testing materials. We are working to continually improve the models and build training features around the models for increased  realism in orthopaedic training.

Aubrey Blair-Pattison (Chief Executive Officer) created Tactile Bones as a part of her Master’s in Biomedical Engineering. Aubrey has her BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, and became interested in orthopaedics through her athletic endeavours.

Dr. Carolyn Anglin (President) is a professor of biomedical engineering. She has extensive experience in orthopaedic engineering, both in academia and in industry. Her fields of expertise include medical device development, computer-assisted surgery, biomechanical testing, and surgical training. She is a co-inventor on the platform technology and is passionate about residents and surgeons learning outside of the operating room in the most effective way possible.

Dr. Rick Hu (Chief Medical Officer) is a spine surgeon and serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in orthopaedic surgery and research and he is a co-inventor on the platform technology. He has been involved in multiple startups, and is now founder and CEO of Vivametrica. He has used artificial bone models throughout his career.

Christine Jansen (Chief Technology Officer) is experienced in manufacturing optimization and sculptural artistry. Her expertise is bringing Ammolite BioModels' Orthopaedic Models to the next level in appearance and performance.
